Qatar Housing Loan Documents by Loan Type (+ Checklist)
To apply for a housing loan in Qatar, you will need four main documents, plus a few more based on your loan type. This guide explains what to include for construction, purchase, demolition, installation, and heirs loans. You can also use the interactive checklist to keep track.

Qatari citizens can apply for housing loans by starting at the Housing Department of the Ministry of Social Development and Family.
The paperwork is often easier than most people think. After reviewing all the application forms, we found they share the same structure. Every loan type needs four main documents, with a few extra ones depending on your choice. Here’s what you’ll need for each option.
The documents every applicant submits
All versions of the application form need four main documents.
- Copy of your QID
- Copy of the property’s title deed, together with the plan attached to it
- A bank undertaking from the bank where your salary goes. This document shows your bank will handle the monthly transfer. For more details, check our guide to loan amounts, fees, and monthly payments.
- Valid building permit
These four documents are the foundation of your application, no matter which loan type you pick.
Building on your land
If you want a basic construction loan, you only need the general documents. The Construction Loan Application (in Arabic) covers the general requirements, payment schedule, and bank undertaking in one form. No extra documents are needed for construction.
Buying an existing house
If you’re buying an existing house, add four more documents to the general set. Most of these relate to the seller, not the buyer. These are included in the Purchase Loan Application, which is also in Arabic.
- Building completion certificate
- Bank letter stating the property owner’s account number, the account that receives the purchase amount
- Copy of the seller’s QID
- Approved architectural drawings (A01) issued by Urban Planning
If you choose purchase or construction, you can also get the QAR 50,000 furniture grant for Qatari citizens. So, a complete file gives you more than just the loan.
Demolition, rebuilding, and installation of houses
One application form covers both construction and demolition. If you choose demolition, you’ll need to add two attachments. Installation house financing uses those same attachments and adds one more, just as shown on the form.
The installation route has its own Installation Grant Loan Application, which includes a nine-stage payment schedule.
- Copy of the demolition permit
- Electricity disconnection certificate
- Client’s account number, installation houses financing only
Heirs applications
If the applicants are heirs, they need to use the Heirs Loan Application and add three extra documents to the general set.
- Determination of heirs
- Power of attorney from the individuals named in it
- Letter from the Minors Affairs Authority, only where a minor exists
